Hello my name is... making patients feel welcome - short
As a Trust, we want to help people feel better when they come into hospital and an easy way to do this is with a simple introduction: Hello My Name Is… We also know that for many people, patients and staff, English is not their first language so some of our staff are introducing themselves here in other languages.

I’m a young chiseled sigma, I eat really clean, work out like I’m an avenger. A few months ago out of the blue I started to snore. Took a sleep test through the VA and now I wear a mask like I’m mad max when I go to sleep.
Anyone offered sedation for an endoscopy, please take this option. I had midazolam just before my procedure. Along with fentanyl and the anesthetic spray . It was amazing I wasn't aware of the tube going in, no gagging . Very very relaxed , my mood was great . I was so anxious in the days beforehand . Please discuss sedation prior. But you must get a person to pick you up . .
I thought they go on the mouth
I had one put in because of great weight loss post cancer but also many health issues that make it eating harder. I will share that my post op experience was really challenging and it's been 3 weeks but feels like 3 months. I had excruciating pain to better but so much discomfort that has affected my way of life.. I thought it would be easy n it's turned out to be hard. I hope your experience is positive and you receive a good outcome !
Youre a good lookin dude so no worries brother
Been doing this for years. A complete waste of time in my case.
thankyou for your help
Is there a risk of pneumonia with humidity settings meaning water getting into your lungs?
Thanks for the ontroduction!😊
Thank you ❤
Does it matter which way the filter is placed or can it be flipped either way?
I was wondering the same thing I have a smooth side and a rough side. Which side goes facing out

I would imagine that the people that have already posted here will not see my comment. However, I just wanted to thank all of you who had such encouraging words of reassurance to share! I have been so scared for this procedure for months and have been avoiding thinking about itbecause of the panic I get from it. Thank you for helping to set my mind at ease, and making me feel more comfortable with the procedure.
I was born here!
But hey. she said no wipes. but those that the manufacturer sells in connection with purchase are they also harmful? Hopefully she means 3rd party wipes to be used for other purpose
my besties daugher. arm and leg and eye. thats how intense it was. she is amazing today about 15 years later with a kid. wonderful.
Pretty nasty having to walk around on that floor with nothing on your feet
Blessings in an abundance of the faith. I salute you. 😘🙏Grace and peace be unto you and to this place. God bless you. 🤍🌈🤍Thank you. Will you believe and receive Jesus Christ as your LORD and personal saviour??? I do. 😊
I am still terrified.
No gloves to give medication??
I get my mask made in a few days. I've got larnyx cancer. 35 treatments. Do not know as yet if I need chemo. Will find that out also.
Good luck
So glad they were able to help you
Thank you for the clear instructions in the video, it is indeed very helpful
LOL that thumbnail is hilarious
I have the same injury after a motorcyclecrash when i was 18. Im 60 now and had i pretty good life so far. Still riding my bike and had many jobs that was not realy suitable for me but i pushed through. It really start to take a toll on my body now so be careful and save some for the old days. 😉
You will heal God bless you
Im scared
How long do u have to test yourself
Great video -- this young Lady explains what I was needing to know about the humidifier unit. Thanks much!
I’m from the UK and I had this!! I’m an extremely nervous person like I’ll cry and everything, I was even crying in the room 😂 I had throat spray and sedation and honestly it wasn’t even that bad. Literally could not feel a thing, please don’t be scared bc I promise it’s not as bad as you think and that’s coming from someone who cried and screamed whilst they took my blood pressure 💀
You sound like me so reading this is reassuring 😅 I'm the biggest baby going when it comes to anything mouth and stomach related. I've a deep seated fear of being sick so going for this is truly messing with my head. Ideally I'll get knocked out not a chance I'm doing this awake. Thanks so much for reassuring comment
@@missstormchaser1 I’m exactly the same! I cry at the dentist it’s so embarrassing my dentist is like “it’s okay I’m just looking this is only a mirror” 🤣🤣 but honestly the endoscopy wasn’t an issue. Are you from the UK? They won’t put you to sleep (that’s why I was super worried) but they do give sedation, you do know what’s going on but it’s like your mind isn’t even there. It felt like 10 seconds and it was over 🤣 I had a colonoscopy too which was probably more tough than the endoscopy but there’s honestly nothing to worry about, I was shocked at how easy it was 😂 what’s your endoscopy for if you don’t mind me asking? X
Omg....I get so nervous I've gotta to have this in 2 day's time, I'm freaking out already 😢
@@christineclarkemyuniquenes7792 I promise you it’ll be okay!! Whilst they were doing it i barely noticed, when they finished I asked “when are you gonna start” I know it’s tough but i promise it’s more scary than it actually seems xx
You doing a whole lot lol it does not have to be so tedious
I’m just about to tick over a year since my mtb accident that caused my brachial plexus injury (among other serious injuries). It’s been 8 months since the nerve transfer and whilst I’m seeing some improvement I still can’t lift my arm yet. This story was inspirational as the last 12 months has been mentally and physically draining.
Me too 6th of February will be a year since fall down stairs total arm paralysis no nerve transfers LGI as no interest in treating me at the moment
that is if you get an interview, oh my god the nhs hates me
ALWAYS CLEAN YOUR MACHINE, TUBING, AND MASK FREQUENTLY! I'm a healthy enough middle aged man who just got pneumonia for the first time more than likely due to not having cleaned the tubing. I keot up on the reservoir and mask but neglected the tubing. DO NOT neglect proper cleaning of ALL parts of your machine, tubing, and mask! Now I take about a quarter cup of 91% rubbing alcohol and pour it into the reservoir with the rest of the reservoir being distilled water and run the mask till all the rubbing alcohol has completely been used up through the machine, tubing, and mask every week. Additionally, I use alcohol wipes to wipe down the inside of the mask and reservoir. Its the best way to clean your equipment without waiting on equipment to dry, especially the tubing, which will take forever to dry.
Thanks for shareing your experience. A friend of mine also had pneumonia due to the same problem of improper cleaning.
I have had my machine only for a week and only used it 5 hours in total and the air now smells stale from it... Seems the hose will need to be cleaned more often then 1 time every week...
Why does the water level.im my machine never drop? It is still always full in the morning and I still get dry mouth
Sup, how you doing?
This is a wonderfully helpful video. Nice and easy instructions. Much appreciated.
Why is it necessary to leave it on while not wearing it wouldnt that cause a false reading???
What do you do when there is a red face for mask seal?
How long does the tube take to dry? and it is worth having 2 tubes incase one doesn't dry in time when I need to use it?
My dad has one and I’m due to get one this week. I find they dry fairly quickly just hung over the washing line or if you have a clothes airier indoors. But I tend to hang the hose in a ventilated place over bathroom door hook to avoid any kind of bacteria buildup. As for drying time, I’d leave it to hang on the door from the morning to night, so probably the whole day to dry. Getting more than one tube is probably a good idea so at least you can have a clean tube each time
Can't you just hook the tube back up turn it on. And not connect to your face to air dry it?
@golanoski1 I dry out my tubing by letting the machine blow air through it after hanging it for a while and using a cpap cleaning brush to get the excess water out
